You're right. New york as a whole isn't new england.

The eastern part of upstate New York is, however, widely regarded as a part of the "New England" like states. Combine that with the fact that a large hunk of our customers travel from New England to our store and we don't have a problem at all claiming that we are part of New England!

Also just as a side note (to add to the legitimacy of my New England Claim) the University of New Hampshire School system even has a special scholarship program to allow students in certain parts of NY to be included in their New England tuition rate program. Cambridge just happens to be included in that program, so you'll have to just accept us- the state of new hampshire all ready does!
